CAIRO — Egyptian prominent businessman Ayman Mamdouh Abbas, Executive Chairman of Intro Holding Group, has acquired a 10% equity stake in Cairo-based proptech startup Aqar Exit.

The primary investment injects $200,000 (~EGP 10 million) into the company, valuing the real estate contract assignment platform at $2.0 million (~EGP 100 million) post-money. The transaction follows Aqar Exit’s feature on Shark Tank Egypt.

Marketplace Model & Platform Traction

Founded in July 2026 by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mahmoud Ammar, Aqar Exit operates a digital marketplace designed to address installment defaults and illiquidity in Egypt’s primary residential market:

  • Secondary Assignment Facilitation: Connects primary property buyers unable to maintain developer installment plans with prospective buyers seeking real estate without traditional resale markups or developer contract assignment fees.
  • Price Parity Structure: Enables original buyers to exit obligations and recover paid capital while offering secondary buyers access to off-plan units at original developer contract pricing.
  • Early Operational Metrics: The platform reported facilitating approximately EGP 9.0 billion (~$180 million) in aggregate secondary transaction interest and listings across its first two months of operations.

Use of Capital & Regional Growth Strategy

The seed tranche provides balance sheet runway for product diversification and cross-border expansion:

  • Gulf Market Penetration: Capital will finance regulatory, technical, and commercial groundwork for expansion across key Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) real estate markets.
  • Product Pipeline: Supports the development of digitized escrow tools, automated developer compliance mechanisms, and asset verification protocols.
  • Future Capitalization: Serves as a bridge toward a targeted $5.0 million Series A round planned for 2027, targeting regional venture funds and institutional real estate investors.
