DAKAR & PARIS — European explosives and mining services provider EPC Groupe (Euronext: EXPL), operating through its subsidiary EPC Mineex Sénégal, has been awarded an integrated supply and blasting services contract by Endeavour Mining for its flagship Sabodala-Massawa gold mining complex in eastern Senegal.

The 5-year agreement carries an estimated initial contract value of €10 million (~$10.9 million) annually, translating to a total value of €50 million (~$54.5 million) over the full initial term, at full run-rate operational deployment.

Scope of Work and Technical Deployment

Under the terms of the agreement, EPC Mineex Sénégal will manage the full blasting value chain across the Sabodala complex, manufacturing and deploying nearly 45,000 tons of explosives over the 5-year project lifecycle:

  • On-Site Emulsion Production: Construction and operation of a dedicated Emulsion Modular Plant (EMP) and deployment of two Mobile Explosives Manufacturing Units (MEMUs).
  • Underground Automation First: Introduction of five Smart Process for Underground Repumping (SPUR)automated charging units, marking the first operational deployment of this specialized underground mining technology in the Senegalese market.
  • Optimization & Measurement: Delivery of continuous post-blast performance analysis, environmental impact mitigation, and digital blast optimization led by EPC Mineex engineering teams.

Local Content Alignment & Regional Expansion

The award expands EPC Groupe's strategic operational footprint across West Africa, complementing its recent expansion into Senegal's mining supply sector while fulfilling national local content regulations.

“This new contract is a recognition of the commitment and professionalism of our teams in Senegal. It highlights the relevance of our integrated model, which combines technical expertise, operational excellence, innovation and close customer relationships,” said Rokhaya Sall, Managing Director of EPC Mineex Sénégal. “We are particularly proud to support Sabodala Gold Operations over the long term while contributing to the development of local skills and the creation of sustainable value for surrounding communities.”

The Sabodala-Massawa complex represents Endeavour Mining’s largest producing asset in West Africa, with the integrated blasting services contract supporting ongoing surface extraction and new underground development phases.
