**LAGOS** — Nigerian health-tech provider [**Helium Health**](https://www.linkedin.com/company/heliumhealth/home/?ref=africainvestorreview.com) has been awarded a **$2.5 million (\~NGN 3.4 billion)** grant from [**Google.org**](https://www.linkedin.com/company/google/home/?ref=africainvestorreview.com) after being selected for the **Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Government Innovation**.

Helium Health is the sole Nigerian and sub-Saharan African enterprise chosen among 15 global organizations selected from a competitive pool of over 2,600 applications worldwide. The global challenge allocates $30 million in total funding and technical assistance to organizations partnering with public sector institutions to enhance public services using artificial intelligence.

The non-dilutive capital deployment will support the three-year rollout of **HeliumMum**, Helium Health’s proprietary AI-driven maternal healthcare platform. The initiative will target **1.9 million women** across four primary Nigerian jurisdictions, Lagos, Delta, Kano, and Oyo states, with Lagos acting as the central launchpad.
