JOHANNESBURG — Independent South African private equity manager Infinite Partners has finalized the capital raise for its second flagship vehicle, Infinite Partners Core Equity Fund II, closing at R2.8 billion ($170 million) and exceeding its initial R2.5 billion ($152 million) target.

The fundraising effort was backed entirely by a 100% South African institutional limited partner (LP) base, comprising domestic pension funds, life insurers, asset managers, and commercial banking institutions. Infinite Partners operates as a 100% founder- and Black-owned private equity firm with majority Black female ownership and Level 1 B-BBEE status.

Mid-Market Mandate and Capital Allocation Strategy

Core Equity Fund II is structured to deploy growth and replacement equity into established, resilient mid-market enterprises across South Africa and the broader region. The vehicle targets businesses characterized by clear structural market demand, proven leadership teams, and long-term value creation potential across high-growth sectors.

The fund deploys check sizes generally ranging between R100 million ($6.1 million) and R500 million ($30.3 million)per transaction, providing institutional growth capital to mid-market operators expanding their core operations and market presence.

Deployment Acceleration Across Software and Digital Infrastructure

Initial capital deployment from the vehicle has already funded platform acquisitions in two key high-growth companies. The fund backed enterprise software vendor e4 Strategic, whose core transaction engine has processed over R2.8 trillion ($170 billion) in mortgage transactions since inception across the South African banking and real estate ecosystem.

In addition, the fund invested in digital infrastructure operator CYNK, whose network footprint has expanded to cover more than 667,000 households, extending broadband and digital access into historically underserved communities. Infinite Partners plans to deploy remaining capital across a active pipeline of mid-market transactions aimed at bolstering regional economic infrastructure.
