Replit Acquires San Francisco AI Analytics Startup Atta

The San Francisco-headquartered AI platform folds Atta’s purpose-built charting engine into Replit Agent, bringing data visualization and SQL-free analytics to its global developer ecosystem.

SAN FRANCISCO — United States-based AI development platform Replit has acquired Atta, an AI-powered business analysis startup co-founded by Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa.

While financial terms of the transaction were undisclosed, the acquisition incorporates Atta’s interactive data visualization and business intelligence technology directly into Replit’s core agent interface. The deal also sees Atta's founding team join Replit to lead its expanded business analytics and data visualization vertical.

Folding Purpose-Built Charting into Replit Agent

Atta developed an AI-driven workspace designed to automate data exploration, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, and financial scenario modeling without requiring complex database queries. The startup previously secured venture funding from Silicon Valley firm Menlo Ventures.

Under the integrated platform architecture, Replit users can upload raw datasets or link external data repositories directly within the Replit chat environment. Replit Agent leverages Atta’s charting system to parse underlying data structures, run natural language analytics without requiring custom SQL code, and automatically render contextual visualizations, including waterfall charts for revenue shifts and heatmaps for customer retention patterns.

The transaction reflects a broader strategic evolution for Replit as it expands from an AI-assisted software development environment into an integrated operational platform. By embedding native charting and analytical capabilities into its chat interface, Replit aims to eliminate software friction between application development, data analysis, and executive decision-making.
