Tactful AI Secures Pre-Series A Extension Investment from Former e& Group CEO Hatem Dowidar
The Cairo- and Cambridge-based agentic CX infrastructure platform expands its funding base following a $1M capital raise as it prepares for a planned 2027 Series A round.
CAIRO & CAMBRIDGE — Egyptian enterprise technology startup Tactful AI has secured an undisclosed direct investment from Hatem Dowidar, former Group Chief Executive Officer of telecommunications operator e&.
The capital injection acts as an extension to Tactful AI’s $1 million Pre-Series A round originally announced in February 2026 and co-led by regional venture firms Foras AI and M Empire.
Product Development & Enterprise AI Architecture
Tactful AI develops agentic artificial intelligence infrastructure designed to automate customer experience (CX) workflows and multi-channel customer interactions:
- Agentic Automation Model: Combines engagement, orchestration, governance, analytics, and agentic AI within a unified platform, enabling enterprises to build and modify end-to-end CX workflows directly in-house in hours rather than months.
- Enterprise Control & Governance: Embeds strict governance protocols, recorded agent decision paths, and mandatory human-in-the-loop approval mechanisms for customer-facing processes.
- Operational Growth: Platform metrics since early 2025 demonstrate an 11.7-fold increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a 32-fold surge in monthly handled conversations across enterprise clients including Al-Araby Group, Raneen, 2B, Lucky One, Erada Finance, and Simplex.
Funder Background & Strategic Roadmap
The strategic investor backing brings telecom operational scale to the startup’s global expansion plans:
- Investor Profile: Hatem Dowidar brings over 25 years of technology and telecom executive leadership, having served as Group CEO of e& from 2020 until March 2026 and previously as CEO of Vodafone Egypt.
- Series A Preparation: Capital from the extended round will fund product deployment and client onboarding ahead of a planned Series A institutional fundraise in 2027.
Executive Statements
"His support and trust come at a pivotal moment as we take our boldest step yet toward defining a new era of agentic AI-driven customer experience," stated Mohamed Elmasry, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tactful AI.
