LAGOS — Acecore, a Nigerian climate-technology startup building locally manufactured, AI-powered solar energy storage solutions, has won the $10,000 (~NGN 16.5 million) grand prize at the 2026 edition of TC Battlefield.

The annual early-stage startup pitching competition took place during Moonshot by TechCabal 2026 at the National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria. Acecore emerged victorious after competing against nine other finalist companies for a share of $17,500 (~NGN 28.87 million) in total equity-free funding.

Product Architecture & Award Breakdown

Acecore manufactures hardware and software energy management infrastructure designed to address grid unreliability and high fuel generation costs across Nigeria:

  • Hardware Stack (Powercell): Locally manufactured, AI-integrated solar battery systems engineered for residential and commercial energy storage.
  • Software Interface (Powercore): A proprietary management application allowing users to track real-time power performance, optimize battery longevity, and manage distributed energy loads.
  • Competition Runner-Ups: B2B retail supply chain and BNPL platform Supplya placed as first runner-up, securing $5,000 (~NGN 8.25 million) in equity-free cash, while Navidyn Limited finished third, taking home $2,500 (~NGN 4.12 million).

Institutional Context

TC Battlefield serves as the centerpiece startup showcase for TechCabal's annual two-day Moonshot conference. Held under the 2026 theme "Courage & Conviction — Building for a New World," the event gathered thousands of founders, institutional investors, and operators across the global and African technology ecosystem.

Acecore joins previous TC Battlefield winners, including proptech startup Ulé Homes, which took top honors at the 2025 edition.
