LONDON — EFG Holding has secured a $40 million, four-year term loan facility from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) aimed at broadening financing access for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) throughout Egypt.

The capital allocation is structured to empower eligible domestic businesses to invest, scale operations, generate employment opportunities, and advance sustainable economic development across the market.

While the EBRD has previously extended credit lines to various subsidiaries within the group, including Bank NXT, Tanmeyah, and Valu, this transaction establishes a critical corporate milestone by delivering the first direct facility to EFG Holding at the parent-company level.

Funds are earmarked specifically for expanding liquidity and term-lending portfolios for MSMEs seeking to modernize operations and drive inclusive growth. The formal agreement was executed on the sidelines of EFG Hermes’ 12th Annual London Investor Conference, a prominent forum connecting international institutional investors and listed enterprises across the MENA region.

As regional financial institutions look to reinforce private sector resilience, this holding-level partnership underscores the growing institutional appetite for backing diversified financial platforms in North Africa.
