CAIRO & ABU DHABI — AI decisioning infrastructure platform Synapse Analytics has officially announced a USD 13 million Series A funding round, bringing its total capital raised to USD 17 million since inception.

The financing round was led by global technology investment firm Partech, with follow-on participation from Algebra Ventures and Silicon Badia. The newly secured capital will be deployed to scale the company's engineering teams, accelerate core product development, and broaden its international market footprint across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Solving the Data Sovereignty Dilemma in Financial AI

As banks, non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), fintechs, and telecom operators increasingly automate underwriting and risk procedures, they face a structural trade-off: capturing the efficiency of advanced AI models typically requires routing sensitive borrower data to external vendors on shared infrastructure.

Synapse Analytics was built to eliminate this compromise. The platform's decisioning suite can be deployed entirely within a financial institution's own data perimeter—whether on-premise, across private or public clouds, in a sovereign cloud, or via air-gapped environments. This allows credit and risk teams to automate onboarding, credit scoring, fraud detection, and anti-money laundering (AML) workflows while maintaining absolute ownership of their data and risk policies.

"Our mission is to give financial institutions the intelligence and decision infrastructure they need to make faster, more secure decisions to reduce risk, unlock growth and build stronger customer relationships," said Co-founder and CEO Ahmed Abaza. "Partech’s investment reflects the momentum we have built and gives us the backing of a leading global technology investor."

Empowering Risk Teams with Agentic Infrastructure

Beyond secure deployment, the platform equips risk and credit desks with granular policy control. Financial institutions can simulate, version, and test updated credit rules against historical data before deployment, introducing AI-native scaling without violating strict regulatory compliance frameworks.

Co-founder and COO Galal Elbeshbishy emphasized the platform's evolution toward collaborative intelligence: "Today, we’re taking that a step further by working with banks, fintechs, and other firms to enable intelligent agents that actively work alongside their teams—helping them build and refine credit policies, continuously enhance underwriting criteria, and monitor portfolios in real time."

Commenting on the transaction, Lewam Kefela, Principal at Partech, noted: "We're excited to back Synapse Analytics as it builds the category-leading decisioning infrastructure for banks and financial institutions across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Ahmed, Galal and their team have the technical depth and execution to scale it."
