CASABLANCA — ABA Life, the specialized digital health and medtech subsidiary of Moroccan technology conglomerate ABA Technology, has signed a definitive investment agreement securing $40.0 million (~MAD 396.8 million) from private equity firm Admaius Capital Partners.

The equity transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval from the Competition Council of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Founded in 2021 by Mohamed Benouda, ABA Life has established a vertically integrated and profitable healthcare operations model spanning medical technology, connected health infrastructure, telemedicine, care management, and artificial intelligence.

Capital Allocation & Growth Strategy

The $40 million commitment marks Admaius Capital Partners' strategic push into North African digital infrastructure and healthcare. The growth capital will be deployed across three strategic pillars:

  • "AI for Sovereign Health" Initiative: Scaling proprietary clinical intelligence and diagnostic tools through Mediot AI, developing localized medical language models and predictive care frameworks.
  • Industrialization & Asset Deployment: Accelerating the manufacturing, deployment, and operational integration of connected medical devices, telemedicine units, and primary care infrastructure across Morocco.
  • Geographic Expansion: Driving international expansion across Sub-Saharan Africa and select high-growth emerging markets, leveraging Morocco as an export hub for healthtech solutions.

Institutional Context & Strategic Mandate

ABA Life has executed large-scale public-private partnerships (PPPs) alongside Moroccan state institutions and philanthropic foundations to expand access to healthcare in remote and underserved areas.

The capital injection is structured to propel ABA Life toward becoming one of Morocco’s home-grown technology "unicorns," aligning with national initiatives to build sovereign technological capabilities in key public health sectors.

Executive Statements

"In five years, we have shown that a profitable healthcare technology model, able to deploy at scale, can be built from Morocco. This funding marks the start of a new phase: acceleration and internationalisation. Our ambition is to make ABA Life a global healthtech reference and one of Morocco’s next unicorns," stated Mohamed Benouda, Founder and Chairman of ABA Technology. "With AI for Sovereign Health, we want to develop a new generation of clinical intelligence in Morocco and take it to international markets."
"From our very first discussions, we were impressed by what ABA Life has built: an integrated healthcare operator combining medical devices, connected infrastructure, care operations and proprietary technology developed in Morocco," added Selim Ettriqui, Head of Morocco and West Africa at Admaius Capital Partners. "We are pleased to support Mohamed Benouda and his teams in this new phase of growth and international expansion."
"ABA Life has the qualities we look for in our investments: an ambitious entrepreneurial team, a proven business model, strong technology foundations and significant potential to scale," commented Marlon Chigwende, Managing Partner at Admaius Capital Partners.
