Moroccan Water Infrastructure Leader SNCE Welcomes CDG Invest Growth and Mediterrania Capital Partners as Minority Shareholders

The historic hydraulic engineering firm is bringing in institutional investors to accelerate regional expansion across Africa and the Middle East while keeping the founding Laraqui family at the helm.

CASABLANCA — Moroccan hydraulic infrastructure leader Société Nouvelle des Conduites d'Eau (SNCE) has brought in private equity firms CDG Invest Growth and Mediterrania Capital Partners as minority shareholders to accelerate its next phase of regional growth.

Founded in 1961 by the Laraqui family, who will retain their majority stake and continue guiding management, SNCE specializes in end-to-end water management, covering pipeline manufacturing, urban sanitation, wastewater treatment, agricultural irrigation, desalination, and large-scale water transfer systems. Alongside its robust market footprint in Morocco, the company has expanded its operations into West Africa, including projects in Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger, and Cameroon.

The strategic partnership with CDG Invest Growth and Mediterrania Capital Partners will be deployed to strengthen operational capabilities, enhance corporate governance, and drive broader expansion across Africa and the Middle East.

As water security and climate resilience become paramount across the continent, SNCE sits at the critical intersection of public infrastructure development and resource preservation. The entry of institutional growth capital is designed to bolster the company's industrial capacity, particularly across complex "water highway" projects and large-scale desalination initiatives.

Drawing on deep regional experience and hands-on investment frameworks, the incoming partners will work alongside management to institutionalize growth while preserving the foundational values established over six decades of operation.
