Al Mada Ventures Leads $12M Series A in Ad Signal Infrastructure Startup Journify
Pan-African venture capital firm Al Mada Ventures leads $12M funding round alongside Silicon Badia to accelerate Journify’s AI platform and support expansion across US and European markets.
SAN FRANCISCO — Moroccan venture capital firm Al Mada Ventures, the venture capital arm of African private equity holding group Al Mada, has led a $12 million Series A funding round in San Francisco-headquartered ad signal infrastructure startup Journify.
The round was co-led by returning investor Silicon Badia, with increased participation from Shorooq and Bunat Ventures, alongside new investments from Du Ventures and Oraseya Capital. The Series A values Journify at four times its previous valuation following a fivefold revenue increase.
Operational Footprint & Technology Architecture
Founded in 2022 by Moroccan entrepreneur Taoufik El Jamali, Amine Chouki, and Omar Al Shoubaki, Journify operates offices in San Francisco, Dubai, and Riyadh:
- Core Infrastructure: The company builds server-side advertising signal infrastructure that continuously tracks, validates, and streams first-party customer conversions, offline retail sales, and CRM data directly to major ad platforms including Google, Meta, TikTok, Snap, and Amazon Ads.
- Commercial Scale: Serves more than 100 enterprise clients and fast-growing brands across the Middle East and North Africa, representing hundreds of millions of dollars in annual ad spend. Key clients include regional retail giant Jarir Bookstore (which achieved a 182% increase in return on ad spend) and Saudi e-commerce brand Baytonia.
- AI Capabilities: Deploys machine learning algorithms to continuously monitor ad signal connections, detect data-tracking discrepancies, and resolve ad-attribution errors in real time.
Global Expansion Roadmap
The capital injection is structured to fuel global commercial scaling and R&D:
- Geographic Footprint: Accelerating market entry into the US and Europe to capture demand in major digital advertising markets.
- Governance Expansion: Appointed Ryan Burke, three-time Chief Revenue Officer and former InVision executive,to Journify's Board of Directors to guide US market scaling.
Executive Commentary
"AI is transforming advertising, but the intelligence behind it is only as good as the signals it receives. Businesses know who buys, who comes back and what creates lasting customer value. Too little of that knowledge reaches the ad platforms driving their growth. Our vision is to close that gap, turning real customer outcomes into intelligence ad platforms can learn from."
— Taoufik El Jamali, Co-Founder & CEO of Journify
"As AI takes on a greater role in marketing, we believe the connection between reliable customer data and the decisions built on it will become increasingly valuable. What interests us about Journify is its approach to building that connection from the data layer up: a privacy-first foundation that can evolve into intelligence and action."
— Omar Laalej, Managing Director at Al Mada Ventures
"Since our initial investment, Journify has grown its valuation by more than 4x, and its revenues more than 5x, validating both the strength of its technology and the team's ability to execute at scale. That performance has deepened our conviction that Journify can become a global leader in ad signal infrastructure."
— Hossam Shafick, Partner at Silicon Badia
