Ghanaian Fintech Seevcash Secures $333,000 in Stellar Community Fund Grants to Expand Diaspora Remittances
The blockchain-powered fintech platform is expanding its digital wallet infrastructure, deepening its MoneyGram integration, and scaling the adoption of its physical Visa cards across African diaspora corridors.
ACCRA — Ghana-based fintech startup Seevcash has raised $333,000 through four separate grant awards from the Stellar Community Fund (SCF) and affiliated ecosystem growth programs. The capital injection marks a major milestone for the cross-cross border payment platform as it works to streamline remittance flows between African diaspora communities and their home markets.
Serving core corridors across Ghana, the United States, and international hubs, Seevcash utilizes USD Coin (USDC) on the Stellar blockchain network to facilitate fast, low-cost peer-to-peer money transfers.
Co-founded by Dawuda Iddrisu, Cosmos Appiah, and Charles Owosu, Seevcash was established to combat the high costs, sluggish execution, and friction inherent in legacy financial systems.
The company focuses on expanding financial inclusion and accessibility for unbanked and underbanked populations, freelancers, small business owners, and migrants across Africa and abroad. By providing foreign virtual bank accounts, including U.S., European, and GBP accounts, all anchored by USDC on Stellar, the platform allows everyday users to seamlessly manage funds, handle remittances, and access foundational financial tools.
While blockchain technology underpins its backend settlement speed and low transaction overhead, Seevcash has focused heavily on real-world utility and traditional interoperability. Alongside its funding milestone, the company has integrated directly with MoneyGram to provide cash pickup and local payout options, while also rolling out a physical Seevcash Visa card.
The physical card bridges the gap between digital assets and everyday commerce, allowing users to spend their balances seamlessly at merchants globally.
The newly secured grant capital will be deployed across several core operational pillars:
- Infrastructure Optimization: Upgrading the backend cross-border engine to handle higher transaction volumes with enhanced security and lower latency.
- Wallet Enhancement: Refining the user interface and digital wallet services to simplify onboarding, multi-currency balance management, and compliance measures like KYC/AML.
- Financial Access: Expanding financial inclusion initiatives targeting unbanked and underbanked populations throughout West Africa.
As digital asset adoption accelerates across the continent, platforms like Seevcash are demonstrating how hybrid models combining blockchain efficiency with traditional card networks can fundamentally lower the cost of sending money home.
